🔷 a horse has to be back within last 50 days
🔷 and have been within 5 lengths of the lead at the first call--of of at least one of his last two races
🔷This method is mechanical and NOT perfect, but after years of experience and research...I've found I can eliminate many horses--
🔷The "within 5 lengths of lead" rule basically eliminates horses with no speed, or in poor form. Most trainer prep methods involve their horses to flash some speed--basically a workout within a race....before the "big try"
🔷The "within 50 days" rule get's rid of horses that haven't raced. Horses coming off a layoff don't come close to winning their fair share of races. I get rid of them and concentrate on horses in racing condition
🔷You'll see a lot of stakes and high-class horses that don't race as often, and don't need to. In this case--use your ABILITY rating --it's more class based and good for stakes races
